Who’s Your Guide?

Flip Brown & Business Culture Consultants

Hi - I’m Flip Brown. Since people ask, here’s the reference to the comic strip character whom my Dad liked and I’m named after. http://aerofiles.net/flipcorkin.html. Ironically, Flip Corkin was an air force pilot, and I was a Conscious Objector when it came time for me to register for the draft during my senior year of high school.

I’ve worked with well over two hundred businesses and other organizations to help them become more connected, more collaborative, and ultimately more successful. I am honored to have served my clients who have strengthened their business relationships, deepened their awareness, and held true to their values.

In pursuit of providing strong value to his clients I have obtained over six hundred hours of professional development training, which is ongoing. My hunger for knowledge and experience has led me through multiple certifications and training programs.

After roaming about and then lived in a town of thirteen people for six years, I went back to college at the age of thirty-seven and completed a Bachelors and then a Masters degree. I’ve been a supervisor and I’ve been supervised. Flip has sat on both sides of the therapeutic relationship.

I’ve worked as a psychologist, nonprofit executive, international product manager, mobile crisis team clinician, retail salesperson, and wilderness workshop leader. I’ve also been a hardwood furniture craftsman, windsurfing instructor, gigging musician, cross-country ski instructor, a cappella singer, and rabid organic vegetable gardener.

But perhaps the most important work I’ve done has been emotional and spiritual. Working through some significant trauma (we’ve all got some, right?) with a gifted healer has been the best gift to myself of all.

I first met Flip during the interview process for my CPCO role and was pleased to learn that he would be supporting my orientation. Flip was generous with his time and an insightful and thoughtful leadership partner. I was struck by his desire to make things better and help people succeed, and was grateful for his honest perspective. Flip's focus on respect, boundaries, care and personal growth, left their mark on me and on others he worked with. Thanks Flip!

“Working with Flip has helped me tremendously. Not only did my career in itself benefit from our collaboration, but also the tips and tricks I learnt from Flip supported me in discovering what was really important to me as a human being with regards to work and personal life in general. I tremendously appreciate Flip’s no fuss, straight to the point, and therefore truly helpful approach to coaching. That was my first experience of being a manager and having a coach and now I completely understood that coaching truly makes a difference. I avoided so many mistakes in working with my team and as well learning to be more patient and understanding. Thank you, Flip!”
